This is a blog for me to reflect on baking, cooking, eating out and food in general. Whenever I post about a recipe of mine, I will also post the recipe itself into the Recipes category so you can try it out too.
I live in Australia so there will be a distinctly Aussie feel to the foods I discuss – as well as metric measurements! However, I do spend a lot of time in Germany, so German recipes will appear as well.
The cooks and chefs that I look to for food guidance are Maggie Beer, Jamie Oliver and Nigella Lawson. Maggie Beer is a favourite of mine because of her country-style cookery and lack of chilli! Jamie Oliver is a great chef and an admirable person in general – I have watched him since his first TV series “The Naked Chef”. Nigella Lawson can teach anyone to cook, her writing is brilliant and she can show you a good quality shortcut for just about any type of cookery. If these three people are on your cookbook shelf, then we have things to talk about!
I am a regular reader of “delicious” and “Donna Hay” magazines and recommend them as really good food reads. They both have loads of seasonal recipes and interesting articles on food, wine and travel. My favourite food website is taste.com.au with its excellent search capabilities.
